Percival Autumn/Winter 2010 look book

I received Percival’s Autumn/Winter 2010 look book yesterday (cheers Luke) and I have to say there’s some cracking garments in here.

Percival are a recently started (this is their first season), London based and manufactured menswear label (the knitwear’s made in Nottingham). As with many of the UK based labels around at the moment, Percival are also about using the best quality materials from these fair isles. Melton wool from Yorkshire, Scottish beeswax cotton and Harris tweed are amongst some to the fabrics the company uses in its range.

The collection is very autumnal in colour (as you’d expect from an Autumn/Winter collection I suppose), consisting of nice knitwear (their rugby pullover with teepee pattern especially), good shirting and a selection of what looks to be fine outerwear (the mustard fishing mac is another standout piece). Think a more playful version of Albam or heritage Research and I think you’re getting there.

Their site isn’t fully built yet but if you go on it at: Percival, they’ve also made a rather nice video of the collection too, directed by Alex Turvey. I like the fact that more brands are going to the trouble of finding alternative means of showing collections, long may this continue. They’ll be announcing stockists in the coming weeks and I’m really looking forward to seeing the collection in the flesh.

I really think these guys are going to be ones to watch…
